Embrace the Suck is the third painting from the Rise collection. Its' warmth and boldness nudge me to accept (to appreciate even) the unpleasant and unavoidable things I have to go through to get to the other side, like all of the interrupted sleep when my children were babies.
The arches symbolise strength, support and opportunity. And, rather than painting a succulent I chose to paint the flower from a grey salt bush. Why? Well, firstly because they are commonly found along the coast in Western Australia where I live, and secondly they thrive and flower in the harshest of environments; they very literally embrace the suck.
Thank you for your support xx
