In my paintings, the brolly symbolises a safe space to reflect and observe the world from. In Brolly II, there’s a boldness in the way she sits: steady and aware. Beside her rests a water bottle—practical and grounded—and a beach ball, a gentle nod to the years she’s just outgrown. She is taking a moment, pausing—occupying space and time without apology—this is the quiet strength I am celebrating.
This painting is currently in a group exhibition at Creative Edge Art Collective Gallery, Edgewater WA from 13th-31st March.
